History a (very) bit different

Welcome to website of Erasmus+ project which is called “History a (very) bit different” carried out  by students and teachers from Adana (Turkey), Kaunas (Lithuania), Koper (Slovenia) and Poprad (Slovakia).

You can learn there:
·         basic information about the project
·         information about planned and performed project activities
·         you can find there photo and video project records
·         links to other project activities
·         project managers contacts

There are four countries included into this project , every country  with  a different history, with a different national heritage regarding the castles. What we have in common is teenagers who are willing to learn about the history in a different way.

Why castles and castle heritage? Because castle heritage is rich, there is much to do, much to see, much to learn. The students will work using  peer learning via Skype meetings  but they will also  learn much on the spot. They will be able to touch, feel, smell, hear history with the help of different workshops carried out by the local museums, they will cook medieval meals, get to know herbs of that time, they will wear dresses/ hairstyles of that period, listen to medieval music, they will perform local  legends, folk tales, learn different dances… and in that  way their knowledge will be connected with a real experience and will last for a long time.

Project story so far...

Project story so far...

Once upon a time there were two schools in two countries with very similar names- Slovakia and Slovenia. They agreed to work out a project about similarities and differences of their countries. As their  cooperation during two years  developed to a very close relationship they wished to continue it. One of the project topics was exploring the caves as a part of national heritage and there an idea appeared: what about drawing up another project dealing with history – especially castles?

Meanwhile two other schools from Lithuania and Turkey joined their partnership in special circumstances. Slovene teacher Simona, experienced project manager did a great job in filling in the application form and then in July 2015 it was sure the story could  continue…
